Los Angeles del Desierto is a nonprofit group of volunteers that was formed more than 12 years ago to perform search and rescue operations for lost undocumented immigrants in the desert regions of the U.S.-Mexican border. The Desert Angels have found more than 500 lost immigrants and recovered more than 50 bodies. They also give food and medical support to dozens of people without a country who live on the banks of the Tijuana River. JMS Reporter Alejandro Muela followed the Desert Angels on two missions.
